P2P and Crowdlending Platforms That Collapsed or Are in Serious Trouble

Between 2018 and 2022 we published several articles reviewing P2P lending and real estate crowdlending platforms. Since then, several of these platforms have collapsed, been investigated for fraud, or run into serious financial difficulty. This page tracks verified, dated sources on their current status so readers of our older articles are not misled. Last verified: September 2026.

Confirmed fraud or collapse

Envestio – Collapsed in early 2020. The platform’s website went offline and investors pursued legal action to recover funds. See our original Envestio overview (kept for historical reference only, not as investment advice).

Grupeer – Collapsed in 2020 after being revealed as a fraudulent scheme; thousands of investors lost their funds. See our original Grupeer overview.

Iban Wallet – Investigated for fraud by Latvian authorities; independent P2P industry watchdogs classify it as a scam.

Monethera – Collapsed as a scam in 2020, around the same time as Grupeer. See our original Monethera overview.

Serious financial difficulty (not recommended)

Crowdestor – Widespread loan defaults; an estimated €28.5 million in investor funds reported at risk.

ReInvest24 – Investor withdrawals have been frozen at times, and the platform has drawn multiple regulatory alerts. See our original ReInvest24 overview.

Bulkestate – An estimated €20 million in investor funds reported at risk; the platform itself now publishes a risk warning to investors. See our original Bulkestate overview.

DoFinance – Has published repeated “update on the general situation” notices to investors, a pattern typical of platforms winding down. See our original DoFinance overview.

Fast Invest – Persistently poor reputation, very low customer ratings, and frequent complaints about withdrawals. See our original Fast Invest overview.

Wisefund – Subject to a fraud investigation and insolvency-related proceedings reported in the press. See our original Wisefund overview.

What this means if you invested through one of these platforms

If you have funds in any of the platforms above, check the platform’s own communications, your local financial regulator’s warnings list, and independent P2P forums for the latest recovery updates – this page is not a substitute for that. We no longer recommend or promote any of these platforms and have removed outdated affiliate links and promotional content associated with them from our site.

This list reflects public information available as of September 2026. Platform situations can change; treat it as a starting point for your own research, not a final verdict.
